Double R Brand Internship | Summer 2024

This summer while I was working at Double R, a custom women's clothing brand in Dallas, TX, my boss (Mr. Ravi Ratan), asked me to assist in designing a lookbook for all of the different shirt designs offered in the store. Our goal was to make the endless possibilities of a custom shirt more accessible for clients by clearly identifying hemlines, necklines, sleeve types, and other components of the shirts. For this project, I photographed and edited 6 hemlines, 8 back styles, 19 front styles, 23 sleeves, 10 cuffs, and 16 collars, resulting in a 96 page booklet with the inclusion of artwork and other decorative elements. Within the design, I utilized brand elements such as colors, fonts, and logos to align the book with the brand and visually fit seamlessly into the in-store experience. I am eternally grateful to Mr. Ratan for graciously allowing me to take on this project (almost) on my own, and for the consistent feedback resulting in improvements in my work.

In addition to this project, I assisted with day-to-day operations of the store as well as gained more experience in the following areas:

- customer service with high-end clientele
- luxury fabrics and textiles (over 10,000 fabric choices)
- professional photography/editing styles
- communicating brand values and aesthetics
- guiding customers through the custom process based on lifestyle, personal style, occupation, and preferences
- utilized basic garment construction knowledge
