Twirly Pop | Product Development Final Collection

Project type

Digital Illustration

Date

May 2025

Location

Texas Christian University

This collection was submitted as my group's final project for the Product Development course at Texas Christian University. We conceptualized, designed, and completed this project in the spring semester of my junior year. Skills in Adobe Illustrator, Kaledo Print, Kaledo Style, along with research tools such as WGSN and Pinterest were used to create the prints, moodboard, and illustrations.

Our class partnered with local children's brand Mila + Rose to assist with giving us a target market, brand guidelines, and feedback from the owners to simulate a more authentic PD project timeline. Together, our group read trend forecast reports from WGSN to select a theme and color pallete, which directed our design choices.

"Twirly Pop" creates a sense of futuristic nostalgia - everything we loved as girls (ruffles, sweets, bright colors) are presented in this collection, with modern silhouettes with function and suitability in mind.

This project pushed me to hone in on my digital design skills, design creativity, as well as creating with a different end user than myself. Throughout this project, I found myself really taking charge and accountability for our output. I was able to capitalize on my strengths of attention to detail and problem solving, while addressing and improving skills that needed a boost.
